Life Gives Unto Life

Inherent in human beings -fitted within our natures- are the possibilities and
the opportunities
to improve
by ordered steps
higher conditions for realizable perfection.

We possess the faculties and will -physical and spiritual- to repair the retarded conduct that has kept us at odds with one another and our environment, from the beginning of our existence on this planet.

We are not animals and we claim to be above their natures.
And yet animals can be domesticated. Man remains wildly violent.

Kindness, goodness, generosity, trust, compassion, grace, patience and humility are inheritances mostly forgotten in our gross bodies. They remain -precious treasures- suppressed within us, while we struggle, with the liberty of slaves, to bring meaning to our existence.
We are slaves because we don’t live the fullness of the freedom to renew our thinking and exemplify our superior humanity, our own and that of other beings, through our actions.
We are slaves because we fail to overthrow the dictator in our midst -our Ego, which tends to look mostly after “number one.”
Slaves because we ask, “What can I possibly do?" when the question should be “How can I help?”

Wealth alone is mad love for things, its satisfaction is short-lived.
True wealth is happiness. Happiness is peace, internally and with your surroundings. It is knowing that you have breathed into your life activities the understanding and conditions that give life to all. That your every action is a token of appreciation for what the universe has provided for you without ever asking for pay back.

In these hours of sadness and darkness spreading across the globe’s vast horizons we are the only source of light that can lift up the whole cloth of our existence and let in the Sun. Only when we have awakened to this urgent call will the UNIverse, return to set our course aright.

Life gives unto life.

We have gobbled down all the “free lunches”. It’s time for us to feed and nurture the Unknown treasures waiting in the Wings.

Peace,
Ora Abel-Russell

Tribes Go in Search of Their Lost Languages

via New York Times
By Patricia Cohen
Published: April 5, 2010

As far as the records show, no one has spoken Shinnecock or Unkechaug, languages of Long Island’s Indian tribes, for nearly 200 years. Now Stony Brook University and two of the Indian nations are initiating a joint project to revive these extinct tongues, using old documents like a vocabulary list that Thomas Jefferson wrote during a visit in 1791.

The goal is language resuscitation and enlisting tribal members from this generation and the next to speak them, said representatives from the tribes and Stony Brook’s Southampton campus.

Chief Harry Wallace, the elected leader of the Unkechaug Nation, said that for tribal members, knowing the language is an integral part of understanding their own culture, past and present.

Music Surely Soothes; Can It Also Heal?

When presenting concerts devoted to contemporary music in a variety of styles, an overarching theme can provide context. You regularly encounter programs bundled according to historical period, ties to other art forms or more fanciful notions. For this year’s Cutting Edge Concerts New Music Festival, an annual series presented by the composer and conductor Victoria Bond, “Music & Health: Can Music Heal?” is the banner notion.

But during the first concert in the series, on Monday night in the Leonard Nimoy Thalia at Symphony Space, that theme seemed less concerned with the pieces performed than with a mission involving music in general. Each event in the four-concert series is linked to a medical organization that is to receive 50 percent of the evening’s ticket proceeds. Miles of Hope Breast Cancer Foundation was Monday’s beneficiary; CancerCare, the Integrative Medicine Services at Sloan-Kettering Memorial Cancer Center and Young Survival Coalition will follow.

The New Creativity

As far as we can discern, the sole purpose of human existence is to kindle a light in the darkness of mere being.

C.G. Jung, Memories, Dreams, Reflections

A new-world-view must involve a tremendous change in the God-image.

"I not am…addressing myself to the happy possessors of faith, but to those many people for whom the light has gone out, the mystery faded, and God is dead. For most of them there is no going back, and one does not know either whether going back is the better way. To gain an understanding of religious matters, probably all that is left for us is the psychological approach. That is why I take these thought-forms that have become historically fixed, try to melt them down again and pour them into moulds of immediate experience.”

C.G. Jung, Answer to Job, Psychology and Religion: West and East

If a man is to attain to a new creative love-life-Being status, his integrated conscious self must have a conscious plan for his new Renaissance and courageously confront our current history situation. He must rediscover his values.

Heaven must for man begin here on earth, through a deeper understanding of himself.

It is man who transformed God to an imitation of himself,
instead of reckoning with the continuing collective energies that extend beyond his “glimpse”
and yet are established within the inherited, ever-emerging, greatly heightened potentialities of his freedom of choice experience…”Deep calleth unto deep. (Psalms)"

“...We are going to contact spheres of a not yet transformed God when our consciousness begins to extend into the sphere of the unconscious. (C.G. Jung)"

The “spirit” experience in modern scientific man is coming to light despite his earthly efforts to sedate “this exercise in fantasy,” his unique transpersonal spirit within.

No doubt we need sensitivity, a new psychology, new language, and intellectual and spiritual clarification of Creator and created for necessary reverence moving forward. We have outgrown the infantile dependency of Father/God-man/Child relationship religions have fostered. We must expand the way we fulfill human existence, and live in the manner of the idea of the higher man signified by our consciousness of Good, God.
